Behind-the-Wheel Driver Training |
|
Getting a driver’s license is a major part of becoming a responsible adult. We know that you have choices when it comes to your Behind-the-Wheel Driver Training, so before you make your decision as to where you will take that training we would like you to consider these facts:
The number one cause of death (two out of five) for 15-20 year olds is car collisions. CDC Injury Fact Book, 2002
65% of teen passenger deaths occur with a teen driving. www.teendrivingfoundation.org
Young drivers are involved in fatal traffic crashes at over twice the rate as the rest of the population. National Safety Council Rural areas have higher motor vehicle crash incidence rates and death rates than urban areas. www.safekids.org
In 1999, 5,749 teens died of injuries caused by motor vehicle crashes. On average, that's one teen death on the nation's roadways every 91 minutes. National Safety Council 60 percent of crashes occur on roads with posted speed limits of 40 mph or less. www.safekids.org
The risk for motor vehicle crashes is higher among 16- to 19-year-olds than any other age group. In fact, per mile driven, a 16-year-old driver is seven times more likely to crash than a driver 25 to 29 years old. National Safety Council Graduated Licensing Saves Lives. Since inexperience is a leading factor in traffic crashes involving youth, graduated licensing makes good sense. National Safety Councill
Understanding these facts please consider the following:
Most private driving schools drive their students 3 days in a row when they first get their license; give them a certificate of completion; and say “goodbye and good luck.” This gives the student driver six-months to “unlearn” what they have been taught. At Budget Driving School we spread the 3 lessons out over the six-month period so that we can monitor your student’s progress. And unlike most other driving schools we are not afraid to tell parents when we think the student is not ready or needs more practice.
Also, many private and most public school drivers training programs put 2 to 3 students in the car at the same time while instructing, which can cause distractions; limit driving time; and create embarrassing moments for students.
At Budget Driving School your child gets one-on-one instruction from a professional, experienced, and DMV licensed instructor.
We have taught more than a thousand students since 2002 and over 95% of our students have passed their DMV test the first time.
We understand that quality education and training are key to developing safe student drivers and we look forward to helping your child learn to be a safe, knowledgeable, and courteous driver.
